Construction Work Schedule

We build Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m to 3 p.m. During "Blitz Build" weeks we build Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please click here to get directions to our current construction sites. 

What to Bring

We have hard hats and safety goggles for you to use. We will also supply work gloves and tools, but if you wish to bring your own, please make sure they are clearly marked with your name for easy identification.

Habitat will supply drinking water. You should bring your own lunch or plan to purchase your own lunch. During "Blitz Builds", we are sometimes able to supply breakfast and lunch thanks to the generous support of local churches, businesses and individuals. However, to make sure you don't go hungry please plan to bring your own lunch. There are also several casual restaurants nearby.

Wear suitable work clothing that will cover and protect you including sturdy shoes that completely enclose your feet (no sandals). Do not wear flowing clothing that may catch on things. On sunny days, be sure to wear sunscreen and a hat! We work rain or shine (except for heavy rain or thunderstorms), so please also bring appropriate rain wear if needed. 

Volunteer Minimum Age

For insurance reasons, you must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer on a construction site. (Note: during Blitz Builds, you must be at least 18 years of age.) Please note that opportunities for individuals at least 16 years of age are limited. Some volunteer tasks that youth volunteers can do include serving meals, landscaping, and volunteer greeter tasks.  All youth volunteers require a parent or guardian to be ON SITE with them throughout the workday. Office Assistance Volunteering

If you wish to volunteer in our office, please fax in your signed Waiver Form and register on this site as a new volunteer. Then call Yolanda Hernandez at 610-776-7737 or email her at office@habitatlehighvalley.org. Office volunteer schedules are flexible during our office hours of Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm. Please see our website for more information on office volunteer opportunities. 

If you would like to schedule a group of five (5) or more volunteers, have everyone in your group fax their signed Waiver Forms and register on this site as a new volunteers. Then please contact Yolanda Hernandez, our Volunteer Coordinator, at 610-776-7737 or by email at office@habitatlehighvalley.org. Planning a group "Team Building Day" for your business or organization is a great way to build camaraderie among your employees or members! Groups may be scheduled on weekdays or Saturdays but require ample leadtime.
